Frequently asked questions for Brain Games Mahjongg

Q:
The package says there are two ways to play Mahjongg but I only see Genius Quest or
Free Play. Where are the ten versions?

A:    Mahjongg has two game modes:  Genius Quest and Free Play.  Genius Quest is the
adventure part of the game where you must play pre-determined levels which will unlock
new levels and content for you to enjoy.

If you click on Free Play, you will see the ten different ways to play: Solitaire, Memory,
Doubles, Flip It, Waterfall, Nanjing, Hide & Peek, Four Rivers, Golden Dragon and Collapse.

Q:  When I try to play a Mahjongg game in Free Play, only five layouts, five backgrounds and
one tile set are available to choose from.  All the extra layouts, backgrounds and tile sets
are locked.  How do I unlock them?

A:  To unlock the extra layouts, backgrounds, and tile sets, you need to play through levels
of the Genius Quest mode.   As you successfully clear five levels, more items will be unlocked
that you can then choose from when you play in Free Play mode.

Q:   How does the scoring of Mahjongg work?

A:  In all the games (except Waterfalls and Collapse), each match is worth 100 points.  If
you make the match in less then ten seconds you get a bonus depending on how fast you
match. Hints subtract 100 points. Shuffle and Undo subtract 25 points. In Waterfalls and
Collapse, the more tiles you match at once the more points you get. Points awarded start at
25 points and up.

Q:   I’ve just played through a game of Mahjongg and at first I was given a notification that
there were no more matches, but now I just seem to get stuck and end up looking for more
matches forever.  Why?

A:   The pop up alert only comes up the first time you play each game type.  After that, you
only get the sound to alert you that there are no more matches.  We thought it was too
intrusive to have a dialog pop up every time, especially on some levels where you will run
out of matches a lot.
