Frequently asked questions for Brain Games Word Puzzles:
Q: When I attempt to install Brain Games Word Puzzles software, a window opens that
states the software requires 256 Mb of RAM and that my computer has only 248 Mb available.
Is there a way to install this software without me having to add more RAM?
A: We have posted a free update for the program that is a little more forgiving on the
RAM requirement and this should fix this problem. Additionally, it is always good practice to
make sure your PC's display and video drivers are up to date - for that you would need to go
to your PC manufacturer's website (i.e. Dell, HP, etc.) and check for driver updates.
Also, be sure you are running the most recent version of DirectX from Microsoft. Go to
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx - click on "get the latest DirectX here".
When updating your Brain Games Word Puzzles program:
Uninstall any portion of the program that may have installed using Add/Remove Software
function in Control Panel.
Then download the free program update by clicking on this link:

BRAND NEW CROSSWORD PUZZLES AND FUN WORD GAMES THAT CAN IMPROVE YOUR CONCENTRATION

Save the .exe file to your desktop or other easily accessible area for you. It may take a few
minutes to download depending on your internet connection. Double-click the link and install
the program. Then if you can launch the program, try to open each of the games.
Q: I am unable to play all 5 games, is there something wrong with my CD?
A: We continue to look at this problem on a case by case basis as it has been shown to
be PC-specific issue related to video/display drivers and hardware requirements. Brain
Games Word Puzzles does have accelerated graphics in some of the games, therefore your
PC must meet the requirements. Your PC might only require one or two of the steps to fix
the issue, while others may require all three.
STEP ONE:
Click on the "Brain Games Word Puzzles Update" link above to downloading the new file.
Save the .exe file to your desktop or other easily accessible area for you. It may take a few
minutes to download depending on the speed of your Internet connection. Double-click the
link and install the program. Then if you can launch the program, try to open each of the
games. Let us know if you have any trouble launching any of them in particular or if you
prefer to receive the updated program via CD - Email us at: support@onhandsoftware.com
STEP TWO:
Also update your video/display drivers through your PC manufacturer (i.e. Dell, HP, etc) and
DirectX (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx) as this could be a related problem. After
updating drivers and the program, open the game and see if you continue to have the same
problem opening all the individual games.
STEP THREE:
If you continue to have the
problem, the last fix would be
to alter your hardware acceleration
slider.
Go to START.
Select CONTROL PANEL.
Select DISPLAY.
Click on the tab for SETTINGS.
Click on ADVANCED button.
Click on TROUBLESHOOT tab.
Here you will see a slider to adjust
the hardware acceleration in
Windows. This adjusts the control
Windows has over your video card.
The video card's built-in instructions
and features may cause a conflict with
the game. The lower the setting, the
fewer features the video card will
have to use. The higher settings will
allow the video card to use more of its
features.
Games with high 3D requirements will usually work best with this setting on Full, while
older games may not work correctly until you lower this setting to None or Basic. We
suggest setting your slider towards FULL.
Click APPLY, then OK to exit out of this area.
Start Brain Games Word Puzzles again and open the programs that previously would not
open.
Q: I have tried the update on your site for Word Puzzles and I still can’t get the
program to work
on my older PC. Is there anything else you suggest?
A: In rare instances, we have had users who need to take this one step further.
Right click the WORD PUZZLES shortcut on your desktop, then click PROPERTIES. Click on
the COMPATIBILITY tab, and check the three check boxes under DISPLAY SETTINGS. Then
restart your PC and try to open the program again.
